While the meaningful use incentives may be the same, the qualifications diverge. The Medicaid EHR curriculum allows for incentive settlement to go to all eligible health professionals and hospitals for any efforts to improve, apply, or take up the EHR equipment for meaningful use in the first 12 months of their program or for demonstrating meaningful use for five years in a row prior. The Medicare program allows for these payments to go to all eligible hospitals, experts, and significant access hospitals that are meaningful users of the EHR technology.

Superman the Movie and Superman 2 are now cult classics. Which is better is the greatest debate ever.

The Case for Superman the Movie

1978’s Superman the Movie, directed by Richard Donner and starring Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman, Margot Kidder, Marlon Brando, and Ned Beatty, features an all-star cast and a script that was both tongue in cheek and authentic to the spirit of DC Comic’s greatest character.

People who prefer Superman the Movie are film purists. They whine about the inferiority of sequels (except, of course, for The Godfather, Part Two) and hold close to a maxim of traditionalism: “That which came first is best”. Plenty of evidence supports their claim, especially in the case of the Superman films. After all, Superman 2 was split by directorial issues (the film eventually carried the name of two directors) and trouble with the script, holes in the plot, and moments that weren’t true to the spirit of Superman. In the theatrical release of Superman 2, we see Superman abandoning the villains (the evil Kryptonians) to a cold and terrible death. “Superman would never kill anyone!” is the cry heard round the world from those in favor of the original Superman film.

Superman the Movie may not be as authentic to the original DC Comics storyline as it could be, but at least the plot of the original doesn’t find Superman breaking his most basic moral precept. If you’re a Superman purist, Superman the Movie will be your preference. Not that Superman the Movie is a perfect representation of the classic Superman tropes, but it is a far cry more authentic than Superman 2.

The Case for Superman 2

Directorial issues, questionable plot points (Superman and Lois Lane having brunch at the fortress of Solitude?), budget scuffles, and a weak climax at the Eiffel Tower make Superman 2 an easy target for ridicule.

For fans of B-movies, shlock cinema, cult classics, and tackiness in general, Superman 2 has it all. If Superman the Movie is filet mignon (a questionable point to begin wtih), then Superman 2 is a chili cheese dog.

Superman purists scoff at things like Superman’s ridiculous “cellophane S” power — during a fight with the Kryptonians, Superman “peels” the S off his chest and launches it (it has now become see-thru, much like cellophane) as a trap to capture the bad guys. This is ludicrous to people who love the comic series — but exciting for those of us that likecheese in our films. According to the shooting script for Superman 2, the Kryptonians “realize that Superman has powers on Earth beyond their comprehension” — an awesomely bad line that should have made it into the film.

Superman 2 has all the cult classic elements — bad sets (the ice crystal Fortress of Solitude is again highlighted in the sequel), wooden acting, and out-of-left-field additions to the plot.

But everyone can band together and speak evil about the third and fourth films in the series, to say nothing of the 2006 edition, which committed the unforgivable sacrilege of changing Superman’s costume.

One of the most important attitudes you can have is the willingness to invest in yourself and your knowledge.

This is quite different from investing in “opportunities” to make money.

Investing in yourself means you are building skills that you can use in your life. Within the context of internet marketing, investing in yourself means spending money and time on materials that get you ducated on this business.

It may be marketing, site design, copy writing, email campaigns, search engines or any other topics. There’s no shortage of information. In fact, I often say that information overload is our #1 occupational hazard.

Still, you can’t stick your head in the sand and expect to build the skills necessary to succeed in this business.

Certainly, the payoff can be huge. I know dozens of people making six figures in this business. And many others making a nice supplemental part-time income. Working from home. No boss, etc. You know the dream, right?

My point is this: Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself. If you feel lacking in a particular area, scout out for reputable resources, books, courses etc that will fill in that gap in your knowledge. Buy the course, read the material and put it into action.

And if it stinks, or it is too advanced or too simplistic – ask for a refund. You have every right to do so. Don’t be shy. You deserve quality.

I don’t know a single successful netrepreneur that hasn’t made some purchases he or she regrets. That’s life. But it also seems that the successful ones never stop investing in themselves, through courses, seminars and ebooks.
